Spring Play Readings

Join Temple Emanuel play readers to discuss and read six thought-provoking plays this Spring. Our class is lead by Temple member Laurie Freed, who holds Masters’ degrees in theatre and drama therapy. For over 30 years, she has been an actor, director, lecturer and teacher of theatre, and won several awards as a director and stage performer.

In each session we discuss the play and playwright, followed by reading selected portions of the play. This Spring’s plays are:

THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES by John Guare; DOUBT, A PARABLE by John Patrick Shanley; DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES adapted by JP Miller; TWELVE ANGRY MEN by Reginald Rose; THE HUMANS by Stephen Karam; THE GRAPES OF WRATH adapted by Frank Galati

The cost is $35, which will provide you with a copy of each play.

Please contact Play Reading co-chairs Joette and Steve Alkire, [email protected], for interest in joining and any questions.

We meet via Zoom on Thursdays, 1:30-3:30pm. Please note the decision of which play to be discussed on which date is not yet confirmed. The Spring dates are:

March 21; April 4; April 18; May 2; May 30 and June 13
